Our Creations

When you love what you do, you do it best. This is best described the birth of Roof of Africa Craft Beer Brewery. For a long time, Torsten Krumnow, originally from Berlin, Germany, has always wanted to brew his own beers. An opportunity opened when our planned Yoga Retreat in Scarborough, South Africa fell through. We decided to divert the investment into brewing our own beers to treat our customers, offering more than just one type of Namibian beer. It was an adventure. We didn’t know what to expect. It was not easy as we discovered and still discovering. Despite all challenges, we are forging ahead with great amazing results. Winning Gold medals in Lager category at the African Beer competition 3 years in a row! The Pilsner also has her own glory in the making.

The Purity Law applies to all our beer's making processes!

Today, we have more than tripled our productions to include many other types of beers. Feel free to ask for a tour of our brewery. Catch us when brewing is in progress. We offer Beer tasting too!

Strictly speaking, you should order this beer down at the cellar at The Roof Brewery, as technically it runs straight out of the fermentation tanks sample tap. ‘Zwickel Bier’ means it is unfiltered and the full package as the flavour is locked in with the prevailing yeast. This is craft at its best.

Floral- Fruity – Citrus – Stone Fruit – Resin – Medium Bitter

The story behind India Pale Ale: The British army was stationed in India at the time and were drinking dark porters which were going off due to the long trip from England to India. They eventually realised that Hops is a preservative, so they ended up throwing a lot of hops into ales. By the time it got to India the beer was bitter and strong, perfect for the British Army. This beer is hoppy, with stone fruit, citrus flavours, and pine. This beer style is all about aroma and bitterness.
